Dr. James A. Cohagan, DVM

Dr. James A. Cohagan graduated from Penn State University (undergrad) in 1980 and from Purdue University Veterinary School in 1984. He worked as an associate veterinarian in a large animal practice in Ohio before moving to Maryland and starting up his own practice in 1988. In 1994, he and his wife and son moved to Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania (10 miles above the Harford County, Maryland line) and built a haul-in Livestock clinic and office. Since then he has dedicated his work to caring and treating the large animals of the surrounding counties. His hobbies include fishing, camping and boating. His pets currently include two cows, two horses, several whitetail deer, a cat and several dogs .

Dr. Kelsey McCleary

Dr. Kelsey McCleary is the newest associate at Muddy Creek Veterinary Service. She is a 2014 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and a 2010 graduate of Delaware Valley College. She is from Brogue, PA. In her time off, Kelsey enjoys riding horses, spending time with family and friends and anything outdoors.



Cindy grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland and graduated from Towson State College (now Towson University) in 1983. She worked in developing software for Westinghouse and a private retailer until she married her husband, James Cohagan. She then helped him set up and grow his practice and currently manages the office and is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable. Her hobbies include taking care of their large assortment of pets and riding her horse Daisy.

Pennsylvania Veterinary Service


Lori has lived and worked in York county her entire life and now lives in New Park, Pennsylvania. She has worked for Muddy Creek Veterinary Service for over 12 years and is primarily responsible for a majority of the clinic lab work and providing assistance to the veterinarians during surgeries and hosptial care. She also can often be heard on the other end of the phone line when you call in to schedule appointments or help you with routine questions. She and her husband, Tom currently own 3 horses, 5 goats, 6 dogs and too many cats to count : ).

Veterinary Technology


Our newest staff member, Kate grew up in the Seven Valleys area of York County and graduated from YTI last fall with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her responsibilities include performing lab work, evaluating fecals, taking x-rays, monitoring anaesthesia, assisting with surgeries and providing care to hospitalized animals. She can sometimes be seen on the farms with the vets assisting with specific cases. In her time off she can be found enjoying outside activities and spending time with her friends and family. She has two dogs, two cats and chickens. : ).
