- *Parasite management can often be a challenge in our small ruminants due to drug resistant parasites. We recommend that all sheep and goat patients be on a parasite control program, utilizing our modified McMaster’s fecal egg count. By doing egg counts this allows our Veterinarians to create a protocol to target the exact parasites that are affecting your goats and sheep. There currently are no new deworming drugs being developed, so we have to use precaution to ensure that we are not creating resistance with the de-wormers that we still have available.
